Alexandros Skouras is a filmmaker and screenwriter based in Athens, Greece.
He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Athens University of Economics & Business, has studied History & Philosophy of Science at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, and earned a Master of Arts in Advertising & Marketing from Leeds University Business School as well as a master\u2019s degree in Cultural Management from Panteion University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His official film debut, \u201cGran Partita\u201d, won the Best Digital Film award at the Drama International Short Film Festival in 2011. In 2012, his short film \u201c807\u201d was selected by the Palm Springs International Shortfest, and in 2013 his film \u201cTrains\u201d received the Best Picture award at the Love in Athens Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His 2016 short film \u201cCube\u201d won the Golden Dionysus award for best film at the Drama ISFF, the best screenplay award at the Athens International Film Festival, and was featured in festivals such as the Aspen Shortsfest and the Palm Springs International Shortfest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, he directed the 90-minute documentary \u201cIn Search of Kazantzakis\u201d for Cosmote TV, which premiered at the Athens International Film Festival and participated in the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
In 2020, his short film \u201cHarmonica Man\u201d earned him the Best Director award at Drama ISFF, while his latest short film \u201cHalcyon Days\u201d won the best editing award at the same festival. In 2022, he was awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside his film work, he has been active in television as a freelance director specializing in documentaries, having directed 81 hour-long episodes to date.
Currently, he is developing his first feature film, and his new documentary, \u201cBitter Chocolate\u201d, filmed entirely in Ghana, is in post-production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
